Who said you had to sacrifice style for function? At IYKO Professional looking the part is just as important as performance, we found that most other options on the market have you compromising on aesthetics and/or performance, but we think you deserve both (as you should!) hand-crafted with the finest faux leather, quality & durability tested. - Durable water-resistant high quality faux leather exterior.
- Separate multi-purpose top pocket with mesh-zip section can be used for a multitude of purposes such as as an easy access pocket for personal / miscellaneous items such as keys, personal beauty items & digital camera for content, used half open as a caddy bin pocket with a small bin liner and as a separate pocket to store zip-locked dirty brushes to hygienically keep away from the main kit.
- Top & side handles for easy handling when lifting from different heights/surfaces. (Please note: the top pocket handle is for assistance only and not designed to bear weight. Always lift the bag using this handle gently, in combination with the side handle or backpack straps.)
- Thick padding on shoulders and lower back sections with medium firmness to support and cushion your back for added comfort during transportation.
- Buckled detachable & adjustable backpack straps with top & bottom pockets to tuck away straps & buckles when you're not using it in backpack mode.
- Buckled adjustable chest strap to secure backpack straps comfortably on shoulders with velcro roll up for excess strap to be tucked away neatly.
- Suitcase strap as an option to use as an attachment to a suitcase or to attach a foldable luggage wheels cart to turn the bag into a wheeled case. (Not included, sold separately).
- Security zipped storage pocket on lower back (perfect for storing cash payments).
- Deep top section with 3 mesh pockets (2 Medium & 1 Large). Perfect for storing overflow and oversized items and adjustable buckled straps to hold pocket open to preferred level.
- Structured and reinforced lid section to avoid collapsing, material distortion under weight pressure.
- Foam divider detachable insert and separators, secured to the base of the main pocket with velcro straps and additional velcro strips to avoid lifting when main pocked is filled with heavy products.
- Removable semi-opaque semi-flexible plastic makeup mat under the main frame for easy access or can be used separately as a makeup mat.
- Transparent flexible zipped roll up plastic cover over brush/pencil lid section secured with velcro straps when rolled up and raised to allow room for pockets to be filled without crushing the contents.
- Solid frame surrounding the exterior of the lid pocket to reinforce section when under weight and avoid collapsing in on itself.
- Three pockets varying in depth and size to be used to your preference (top pockets are the perfect length for brushes, middle section is perfect for storing bigger items like steel makeup palette, beauty tools & brush overflow and bottom row is shorter and perfect for pencils varying in length so you don't need to dig for them during your service).
- Small side pocket next to brush/pencils section which can be used to store a small folded makeup towel/mat)

Designed with durability in mind, The IYKO Pro Kit Backpack has been stress tested to ensure this backpack can handle the wear and tear of busy MUA life, with this in mind, however, every bag has it's limits.
Whilst for the most part this bag can handle a lot of throwing around, product weight and overpacking (Our founder tested the limits of this specifically) we suggest handling the zippers with care and limit the amount you overpack this bag to avoid putting any unnecessary strain on the seams and structure of the bag, the IYKO HANA can handle A LOT, but it's not (unfortunately) invincible to everything.
Please note: the top pocket handle is for assistance only and not designed to bear weight. Always lift the bag using this handle gently, in combination with the side handle or backpack straps.
We also suggest when cleaning the bag to refrain from using any harsh chemicals on the bag to prolong the integrity of the materials. We suggest using a gentle multi-purpose cleaner and 70% Isopropyl Alcohol for sterilisation, if unsure, please do a patch test before cleaning and hand wash only. Not suitable for dry washing, machine washing or tumble drying.

No system is perfect and is totally down to personal preference of the makeup artist. We did look into plastic dividers, but we quickly realised during transportation internationally that it didn't provide sufficient protection for powder palettes and the dividers were more prone to snapping.
The good ol' foam dividers provide ideal cushioning for products during transportation.
Now we understand there's still going to be a big group of MUA's who dislike the foam dividers, Our founder isn't too fond of them herself, so if she has chosen to keep them it's with reason.
You also are not restricted to keep the foam dividers if you do not want to, you are more than welcome to remove them and customise your kit with external caddies and organise the layout in whichever way you so desire. That's the beauty of it!

The weight of your kit may not change, but the beauty of wearing your kit as a backpack is that the weight itself is evenly distributed across your back, making the weight of your kit feel lighter when travelling.
Our founder has lived the majority of her life with severe muscle and joint pain, so comfort and minimising pain or injury when travelling with your kit was the main priority (and the reason why IYKO Professional was born!) when designing the bag. She found that when travelling with other solutions on the market, the strain it put on her body and the weight of her kit was always loaded unevenly across her shoulders and back, increasing the chance of injury and fatiguing her a lot faster.
For added comfort, the back of the bag is fitted with a generous amount of padding, not too firm that it digs in, but not too soft that it defeats the point of them, situated on the shoulder blades and lower back, areas which are prone to the majority of the weight bearing in contact with your body. The straps are also designed to be slightly wider and also lightly padded so those straps aren't digging into your neck & shoulders.
To add extra layers of comfort, on the front of the straps there is also an adjustable strap buckle designed to hold those straps in place at the chest so you wont have to worry about the straps sliding off your shoulders if you are wearing slippy materials such as satin or silk.

Absolutely not. Our founder is proudly a cruelty-free Makeup Artist and wouldn't dream of using real leather or animal fabrics for her products. This is something incredibly important to her.
We use a durable high quality faux leather that has been tested for longevity and resilience. Not only does the material stay looking new for longer but it also is easy to maintain and clean too.

We didn't put wheels on for the simple reason that it not only defeats the point of it being a backpack, but for hygiene purposes, wether you're in a hot country battling with dust or a rainy country covered in puddle dirt, the last thing you or your clients want is that dirty bottom on their vanity table, not to mention that dirt being so close to your cosmetics and brushes. We decided against it for this reason.
Should you still have a desire to wheel the bag, there is a suitcase strap as an option to use as an attachment to a suitcase or to attach a foldable luggage wheels cart to turn the bag into a wheeled case. (Not included, sold separately), you can also unclip the straps and tuck them away when not in 'backpack mode'.

The body of the main pocket is a standard height of most makeup organisers on the market, but fear not, you can still stand your tall foundations upright thanks to the extra space in the lid, this gives you the best of both worlds.
The benefit of still closing your kit bag with ease regardless of upright foundations, but without having to wrestle to get products out from the bottom of a deep case.
This keeps the bag sleek so you are not taking up a large amount of space widthwise when wearing it on your back.
